Convergent Engineering specializes in using machine intelligence and signal processing to extract information from biomedical data, especially waveforms. As an example, Convergent worked with xHale Assurance to develop signal processing algorithms, software, and patents for use with a novel nasal alar pulse oximetry system. With only the nasal alar and flow sensors, Convergent’s algorithms were able to very closely mimic the sleep scores produced by a full PSG sleep study. xHale Assurance has been acquired by Philips Healthcare.
